July in Guangzhou, the city is bustling with the heat of summer. During the 28th China (Guangzhou) International Building Decoration Expo, the UNI BOX 'Visual World' joint exhibition, initiated by the Half Fish Design Institution and co-created with nine leading brands from the industry chain such as VECO Panels, Yuanfeng New Materials, Butong High-end Sealing, Motai Texture Research Institute, Zodi Decorative Surface, Aibo Decorative Paper, Hualin Decorative Paper, and Future Color Decorative Film, officially unveiled at the Canton Fair Complex Area A, 2.2 Hall, Booth D03.

Following its debut in March with the theme "Harmony between Humans and Nature," UNI BOX has once again presented a groundbreaking concept with the theme of "Visual World," creating a futuristic metallic sci-fi space called the "Material Visual World Pod." The nine brands, breaking away from the isolated perspective of their individual operations, bring the entire upstream and downstream industry chain together within an ingeniously designed "box" space. This comprehensive presentation covers everything from the rational logic of raw material research and development to the emotional expression of decorative aesthetics, and finally the precise implementation of texture empowerment, offering a complete panoramic view of the high-end home furnishing industry from its source to the end.

One Box, Many Worlds; One Realm, Vision of the Future

Upon entering the UNI BOX exhibition area, visitors are greeted by the entrance installation "Tower of Vision" — a suspension of countless transparent acrylic boxes that form an artful tower, with the names of the nine participating brands etched on top and their colors and textures displayed below. This installation symbolizes the transparent and collaborative interaction between the upstream and downstream of the industry chain, with each box representing an independent perspective — different brands starting from different dimensions such as raw materials, textures, and decorative surfaces, ultimately merging into a complete and diverse home furnishing visual world.

Passing through the central installation, visitors enter the "Vision Corridor," where the development stories, core technologies, and benchmark products of the nine brands are displayed sequentially on the walls, covering the entire chain from raw materials, decorative surfaces, decorative papers, high-end sealing edges, texture research, decorative films, to design and development, akin to a condensed map of the home material industry.

At the end of the corridor, the image IP figure "UNI," specially created for this exhibition, attracts numerous visitors. The name UNI is a homophone for "with you," representing the indispensable role of every participant in the industry chain — it is the collective effort of each link that builds the diverse visual world of the home furnishing industry.

The circular atrium "Eye of Vision" gathers the core products of the nine brands, allowing visitors to touch and feel the visual and tactile differences brought by different materials — from the base of the board to the texture embossing, from the decorative colors to the sealing details, it is the叠加 of these processes and the integration of these dimensions that ultimately present a myriad of home aesthetics.

Nine Brands Show Their Strengths, Collaboratively Redefining the Industry's Vision

The nine participating companies in this exhibition cover the entire industrial chain from environmentally friendly raw materials, original decorative surfaces, precise sealing edges, texture research, intelligent equipment, to integrated home design.

VECO Panels, as a high-end particleboard brand fully owned by Sumitomo林业集团, is renowned for its JIS-F4 star environmental standard and global certification (JIS, SGS, FSC, CARB, EPA, etc.). The raw material of the panels is selected from the self-cultivated South American black walnut wood, with its own FSC certified forest and independent seedling base, achieving full control from the source.

Yuanfeng New Materials specializes in the research, production, and sales of FOSB (decorative surface directional particleboard), with an investment of 7.92 billion yuan and the introduction of world-class equipment such as the Defibat continuous press line from Germany. The "Mojiao Board" jointly launched with Beijing Forestry University eliminates stimulating odors from the source with its exclusive natural deodorization technology.

Butong High-end Sealing, with a 10,000-square-meter production workshop and 14 production lines, has an annual production capacity of 80 million meters. The products cover PVC, ABS, ABPS, and laser edge strips, strictly enforcing SGS testing standards and aiming for "the beauty of precision work, protecting every contour of furniture."

Motai Texture Research Institute specializes in the research and development of high-end decorative hot pressing plate molds, with a design system that offers over 3,000 texture options and is a strategic partner for the texture research of the world's top 10 decorative panel brands, extending the surface of home furnishings from "visible to the eyes" to "tangible to the touch."

Zodi Decorative Surface aims to become a "Chinese Decorative Surface" brand, with over 500 original color designs, persistently categorizing products in a scenario-based, application-based, and thematic manner, providing decorative surface solutions that are both aesthetically pleasing and practical for designers and furniture factories.

Aibo Decorative Paper has been committed to the industry for 20 years, with 13 fully automatic high-speed gravure printing production lines (including international top-level equipment such as Roland), with an annual production capacity exceeding 12,000 tons, and its products are exported to Europe, Southeast Asia, and other regions.

Hualin Decorative Paper has developed over 16 years, with 10 4-foot and 1 7-foot Northen People's high-end intelligent decorative paper printing lines, with an annual production capacity of 12,000 tons, and has been recognized as a "Zhejiang Province Specialized and New Small and Medium Enterprises" and "Anhui Province High-Tech Enterprise."

Future Color focuses on the research and production of high-end PVC, PET, PP, and other full categories of decorative films, with 27 intelligent production lines and an annual production capacity of 15,000 tons, with the vision of "China's decorative film, the future is in the true color" to continuously empower the industry.

Half Fish Design, as the initiating party of this exhibition, has a 3,000-square-meter physical space and nearly 300 elite designers, and operates an ecological model of "using education to influence design," continuously delivering new forces to the home furnishing industry.

Expanding Boundaries with Design, Redefining the Vision with Collaboration

During the media interview session, representatives of the nine brands shared their thoughts and practices around the theme of "Visual World."

VECO representative Song Yongli said, "VECO brand has always been committed to creating top-level healthy particleboards. The joint participation of nine industry brands in this exhibition, with comprehensive and in-depth collaboration, aims to break down the barriers of materials, production, design, and implementation, to change the past single-product scattered model, and create an integrated high-end residential solution."

Half Fish representative elaborated on the original intention of initiating the joint exhibition: "The original intention of Half Fish initiating the UNI BOX joint exhibition is to break down the perspective barriers of the furniture upstream and downstream supply chain, and use design as the thread to allow raw materials, processes, and decorative surfaces to ultimately land. From the 'Humans and Nature' theme in March to the 'Visual World' theme in July, it is our concrete practice from touching the material itself to the integration of the industry. We hope to achieve such exhibitions to facilitate the collaborative development of the industry chain and the co-prosperity of brands."
