From March 20th to 21st, 2026, the 2025 Design Industry Conference and the 2026 ADF Asia Design Forum were held in Kunming, Yunnan. This event was guided by the Asia-Pacific Space Designer Association and the Asia Design City Alliance, organized by Tianwen Media, and supported by the National Decoration and Design Merchants Association and more than a hundred cross-industry merchants associations in the province. Design experts, scholars, and industry elites from countries like Singapore, Malaysia, India, Thailand, South Korea, and over sixty cities across China gathered in the spring city to celebrate this grand event.

The conference, themed around "Integration and Communication," delved into hot topics such as design trends, industry extension, technological innovation, rural revitalization, digital upgrading, cultural tourism interaction, and industrial-education integration. The aim was to create a platform for the design industry to foster integration and symbiotic development with related industries.

As an annual grand event in the Asian design community, this conference gathered nearly a thousand industry elites, including design masters, institutions, home improvement companies, and university scholars. Representatives engaged in extensive discussions on industry development direction, cross-domain collaboration mechanisms, and the empowering role of design in high-quality economic and social development.

In the themed sharing session, Lin Qingxian, the director, elaborated on the concept of "Interior Environment Education." He emphasized that when designers start to think about "how space educates," the boundaries of design will be redefined, and the value of homes will be rediscovered. Lin Qingxian pointed out that "Interior Environment Education" is a system ecology constructed within the limited environment, using environmental incentives to align with human nature, providing unobtrusive education, and matching an external environment that meets the child's inner growth needs. This concept has injected an educational perspective into space design, attracting wide attention from participants.

Wu Xiaofei, a member of the Asia-Pacific Space Designer Association, also shared professional advice on space design during the event. Wu Xiaofei, who has received the title of "Creator of Beautiful Living Environment" awarded by the National Craft Art Museum, offered specific reflections on the functionality and humanity of residential spaces.

Before the conference, the first national training seminar for Family Environment Education Designers (Level Primary) was successfully concluded in Zhuhai from January 27th to 29th, 2026. Over a hundred designers from across the country completed a cognitive leap from "space design" to "environmental education," becoming the first batch of certified "Family Environment Education Designers" in China. This training has laid a talent foundation for the development of the design industry in the intersection of family education and space creation.

The successful hosting of this conference not only showcased the design industry's exploration in multiple fields of integration but also marked the systematic implementation of the "environmental education" concept in the professional design field. Participants agreed that the design industry is entering a transition period from functional realization to value leadership. In the future, it will play a more significant role in optimizing human settlements, supporting family education, and enhancing social aesthetics.
