The 10th DIA Award winners have been announced, and the renowned industrial design company YANG DESIGN has stood out with their cabin modular kitchen system for Boeing. This system, a testament to forward-thinking and exceptional design, has been recognized for its global commercial viability among over 5,000 entries, earning the DIA Silver Award.

The kitchen system is divided into three operational zones: reception, work, and rest, each with three different light effects to enhance the experience for both cabin crew and passengers. It is based on a modular trolley base, which can be expanded into waste bins, refrigerators, ovens, and other functional combinations, reshaping the workflow.

The top folding table board, with a damping hinge structure, can hover at multiple angles, doubling the storage and operation space, enhancing the efficiency and space utilization of the kitchen's entire workflow.

The collaboration between YANG DESIGN and Boeing spans 14 years, with both parties engaging in deep cooperation on cabin design, user experience, CMF innovation, and research in culture, trends, and symbolism for various parts of the aircraft, including luggage compartments, domes, seats, lavatories, and intelligent interactions.

This project, after a year of user insight, product design, and prototype testing, has completed the "cabin modular kitchen system" for the next generation of cabin catering services, addressing pain points in cabin service and winning the unanimous recognition of Boeing's headquarters in the United States and professional judges.

YANG DESIGN, founded by the renowned Chinese industrial designer Yang Mingjie, has won hundreds of awards, including the German National Design Gold Award, iF Gold Award, Red Dot Award, Japan G-Mark, USA IDEA, European Pentawards Gold Award, Asia's Most Influential Design Silver Award, and Forbes China's Most Influential Designer.

The DIA Award, which celebrates its 10th anniversary, is an authoritative award in the field of industrial design in China, dedicated to promoting industrial innovation and design empowerment.
